Bishop Gerber has been instrumental in the creation of the Lord’s Diner. Ted who has been a frequent guest over the past 17 years at the Diner says he met Bishop Gerber before he was a bishop. “I was in 6th grade at the Holy Family Center in west Wichita. I liked him right from the start. Being in foster care, he was somebody I could talk to from the beginning. If I had any problems, I could go to him and talk to him about anything. He was always willing to help me or anyone else who was struggling. He didn’t look down on anyone. He would do whatever he could to help out. He was my biggest mentor. If I needed to talk or if I needed advice, I could go to him,” Ted said.
