Legacy Fund
In 2000, Bishop Eugene J. Gerber began to explore realistic ways to ensure that no one would go to bed hungry. He envisioned a place that would operate seven days a week, 365 days a year, serving each guest with respect and dignity. With community support, that dream became a reality on February 13, 2002.
After 20 years, Bishop Gerber’s vision had flourished and was now feeding thousands each night at five Wichita locations and one Pittsburg location.
SETTING THE PLATE FOR THE FUTURE
The growth of The Lord’s Diner ministry, with new locations and mobile feeding trucks, is the result of the tremendous generosity of many in the community. It is time now for The Lord’s Diner to secure funding in order to sustain this ministry for generations to come.
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
For a suggested gift of $10,000, donors will have the opportunity to place names of their choosing on the Legacy Wall. The gift will be invested in an endowment at the Catholic Diocese of Wichita with earnings from this fund to be used in perpetuity for feeding the hungry long into the future.
Gifts of lesser amounts are greatly appreciated and will be placed in a fund created in honor of Bishop Eugene J. Gerber, honoring his vision for this ministry.
All gifts are tax-deductible. Gifts of cash, credit card, or appreciated securities are accepted.
